I’m Not Here to Convince You
There’s no sales pitch in this article.
I’m not here to promise life-changing secrets or pitch myself as some all-knowing Guru.
I’m just here to share what I’ve learned — from 20+ years of my own fitness pursuits, 15+ years of training real people and running businesses and…
More recently- add kids into the mix, and I’ve gained some new perspective on navigating all the chaos without falling apart.
If something I write helps you? Great.
If it doesn’t? Skip it. Take what’s useful, ignore the rest.
A Little Context
I’ve been a personal trainer since 2008. I ran my own training facility for 10 years. I’ve coached hundreds of clients — from total beginners to seasoned athletes. My wife and I now run an online coaching business together.
I’ve also written a book, host a podcast, and lead a men’s fitness community.
But none of that matters unless the ideas hold up in your life.
I write this newsletter because I believe fitness is about more than sets and reps.
It’s about building the kind of body and mind that make you more useful — to your family, your business, your purpose.
Why I Think Differently
Over the years, I’ve grown tired of the extremes:
The “optimize everything” crowd that forgets life exists outside the gym
The influencers who’ve never trained a real person or talked to anyone outside of Instagram
The ridiculous hustle/discipline/do-hard-shit “motivation” that leaves men burnt out and ashamed
So I started building a better framework. One that considers:
Who I want to grow into as person- holistically- and how my fitness can support that
Getting clear on my Values and Purpose- so that I can tune out all the noise of the world and play my own game.
How developing my own personal growth is directly tied to how much I can contribute to the world.
What to Expect From Me
No preaching.
No silver bullets.
No pretending your life looks like mine.
Just a steady drip of ideas that I’ve tested, refined, and used to help busy, driven men stay strong, clear-headed, and capable in the middle of real life.
Your Call
Whether you follow my advice or not is up to you.
You’re smart. You’ve lived a life. You know what resonates and what doesn’t.
All I’m here to do is lay out what I’ve learned, and leave the decision — as always — in your hands.
